Playwright
David Ives was playwright in residence at the Williamstown Festival 41 years ago, and is delighted and honored to return with Pamela Palmer. He wrote the book for the final Stephen Sondheim musical, Here We Are, which premiered in New York last fall, and is the author of All In The Timing; Venus in Fur (also the film by Roman Polanski); New Jerusalem: The Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza; White Christmas;Lives of the Saints; Ancient History; Mere Mortals; Polish Joke; The Red Address; The School For Lies (adapted from Molière); The Liar (adapted from Corneille); The Heir Apparent (adapted from Regnard); and The Metromaniacs (adapted from Piron); his radio plays are available at Playing On Air.com. He also adapted 33 shows for New York's Encores series. He is a graduate of Northwestern University and Yale School of Drama.
Walter Bobbie
Director
Walter Bobbie won the Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle awards as Best Director of Chicago, which has become the longest-running musical in Broadway history. He directed the Steve Martin / Edie Brickell musical Bright Star, which was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Other Broadway credits include Venus in Fur, White Christmas, Sweet Charity, Twentieth Century, High Fidelity, Footloose, and A Grand Night for Singing. Off-Broadway credits include Terrence McNally’s Golden Age; Paul Rudnick’s Big Night (LA); David Ives’ New Jerusalem and School for Lies (CSC); Jeff Talbott’s The Submission (MCC); Evan Smith’s The Savannah Disputation (PH); Ives’ The Other Woman and Christopher Durang’s The Marriage of Bette and Boo (Roundabout). As an actor, Bobbie’s New York appearances include plays and musicals as varied as the original cast of Grease, Shaw’s Getting Married, Assassins, I Love My Wife, A History of the American Film, Driving Miss Daisy, Café Crown, Lincoln Center’s Anything Goes, the 1992 revival of Guys and Dolls, Polish Joke at MTC, and the Broadway revival of Shaw’s St Joan. Mr Bobbie was artistic director of City Center’s acclaimed Encores! and he served on the executive board of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.

Clark Gregg*

A first timer at WTF and thrilled to be here, Clark is a founding member and former artistic director of the Atlantic Theater Company. He's appeared in numerous productions there including Boys Life (Lincoln Center) Mojo and The Night Heron by Jez Butterworth, Happy Hour by Ethan Coen. Also A Few Good Men on Broadway. Directed Distant Fires and Mamet’s Edmond off-Broadway. Played Agent Phil Coulson in the MCU: Iron Man, Thor, Iron Man 2, The Avengers and Captain Marvel. Other films include current indie hit “Thelma” with June Squibb, Being the Ricardos by Aaron Sorkin, Joss Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing, 500 Days of Summer, In Good Company, Choke, Spartan, The To Do List, State and Main, Lovely and Amazing, We Were Soldiers and an Indie Spirit nomination for Hank/Henrietta inThe Adventures of Sebastian Cole.

Clark co-starred with Julia Louis-Dreyfus on The New Adventures of Old Christine Also The West Wing, Sports Night, Criminal Minds, Will and Grace and more. An experienced screenwriter and director, Gregg’s screenwriting debut, What Lies Beneath (Dreamworks), starred Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer. His feature writing/directing debut, Choke was awarded a Special Jury Prize at Sundance. His second film, the dark indie comedy, Trust Me starred Gregg, Sam Rockwell and Amanda Peet and premiered at Tribeca Film Festival.

Max Gordon Moore’s appearances on Broadway include The Nap, Saint Joan (MTC), Indecent, and RelativelySpeaking. Becky Ann BakeR*
The Mother
Becky Ann Baker may be most recognized for her mothering skills, or lack thereof, on two Judd Apatow series, Freaks and Geeks and Girls (earning Emmy and Critics’ Choice nominations in the latter as mom to Lena Dunham’s ‘Hannah’). Most recently she featured on Ted Lasso (for which she earned yet another Emmy nomination), Billions, New Amsterdam, and Big Little Lies and has had memorable spots on Brockmire, The Good Fight, Gotham, and Younger. On screen she’s worked with directors Ridley Scott (White Squall), Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black), Sam Raimi (A Simple Plan) and Steven Spielberg (War of the Worlds). Recently, she has filmed Holler and All Happy Families. An acclaimed theater actress as well, Becky was a member of the original companies of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Titanic and Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins as well as American theater classics All My Sons and A Streetcar Named Desire. Recently she co-starred with Frances McDormand in David Lindsay-Abaire’s Good People and was part of the acclaimed production of The Hairy Ape at the Park Avenue Armory.
Alexander Woodward
Scenic Design
Alexander Woodward is a New York based multi-hyphenate, designer, organizer, and artist focused in scenic and costume design for live performance in theatre, opera, and dance with credits all over, including the world premier of The Sound Inside at Williamstown as well as the subsequent run on Broadway, and the world premiere of the ballet Their Eyes Were Watching God. Alexander serves as the Area Head of the BFA & MFA Design and Technical Theatre program at the University of Connecticut. As a designer and educator Alexander is an avid proponent for advancing arts advocacy, exploring all aspects of our medium as a form for social change & a tool to shape the environment around us. In recent years Alexander has served on the executive board for Wingspace, a non profit organization that promotes conversation on design, our community, and furthers activism within the industry. Amanda Roberge
Costume Design
Amanda Roberge is a New York based costume designer for theater, opera, film and television. She is thrilled to be making her Williamstown Theater Festival debut this summer! Some favorite past works include the Climate Change Operas (BAM, world premier), And Then There Were None (Alley Theater), Abe Lincoln in Illinois (Berkshire Theater Group), As You Like It, Public Works (Madison Theater) and Songs of Body (Here Arts). Landon K. Elder
Lighting Design
Landon is a lighting designer for live performance, pursuing his MFA in lighting design from New York University. Originally from Washington state, Landon has designed throughout the northwest, and is most interested in new works where they can respond to music, somatic-based practices, and dig deep with many wonderful collaborators. Previous designs include A Thick Description of Harry Smith and The Moors at the University of Washington, The Sound of Music, Footloose, and Pride and Prejudice: A New Musical at Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, Drum and Colours at Seattle Shakespeare Company, Monsters of the American Cinema at ArtsWest, and the Yellowstone International Arts Festival.
